Koksiloh River Trestle over Koksiloh River, looking south. This structure also known as "Kinsol" trestle from nearby "King Solomon" mine workings. This bridge out of commission due to rot and arson. Travelers have to cross deep gorge either by bushwacking nearly vertical banks or via a twelve kilometre detour to west and back. Our group chose to do the shortest route through the deep valley beside the rail line. One and a half hours later, after a relay system up the far bank, we were on our way! The Kinsol trestle is the largest wooden rail bridge of its type on Vancouver Island.
