Red Deer River Kayak Pics 1998
August 8 - 9, Sat - Fri
A fine sunny weekend found us paddling the Red Deer River from Dry Island Buffalo Jump to Drumheller. Though it was hot on shore, it was pleasantly cool on the water. Saturday night saw us camping at the Starland campground.
Companion was Guido. Though we were not sure they had made it or not, Denise, Doug, and one of Denise's friends were following. On Saturday night, they camped close behind us, unaware we were near. The three enjoyed a moonlight hike to the top of the valley wall.
Another scorcher of a weekend and all went home with good memories of the trip. Our third kayak tour of the summer. Many thanks to the Midland Park Ranger for helping us with the car shuttle.
